The Friends of Lydiard Park was founded in 2005 and is the successor to the Friends of Lydiard Tregoz whose 40 years of published research raised awareness and appreciation of this unique historic estate.
The Friends were instrumental in Lydiard’s major landscape restoration project (2001-7) and today we play an active and important role in the protection, promotion, conservation and interpretation of the House and Park and St. Mary’s Church, Lydiard Tregoze.
By joining the Friends, you can help safeguard the future of Lydiard Park by:
• Promoting the protection of the historic estate and its environment.
• Helping to purchase and enable the return of original pictures and furnishings to Lydiard House.
• Commissioning, supporting and making available research and studies about the historic estate, its environs and the people who lived and worked there.
• Supporting Swindon Borough Council in levering larger sums of external funding from organisations for acquisitions and restoration work.
